Duration: 5 days / 4 nights

This great adventure will bring participants to the Pai and Soppong areas, in the heart of Mae Hong Son province on a scenic and sinuous mountain road. A challenging trek and an overnight stay in a hill tribe village are the highlight of the trip. The trek follows remote trails and footpath where not many foreigners venture. You will have also the opportunity to discover the excellent limestone cave system for hwich this area is famous. See the full itinerary below.

Note: This trekking adventure is recommended for participants in fit
conditions. Hiking is long and accommodation is very basic!

Itinerary

Day 1 - Road to Pai:
You'll be met at Chiang Mai Airport or your hotel by your guide. Drive the scenic mountain road to Pai valley. Arrive in Pai for lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, explore the area on your own. (Option to cycle around by mountain bike). Dinner and overnight in comfortable resort.

Day 2 - Trek to a Lahu Village :
You'll travel by road further west to reach a Lisu village from which we start hiking through the jungle (3 to 4 hours). Overnight in remote Lahu village.

Day 3 - Trek and caving:
Continue hiking, eventually reaching the small village of Soppong in the early afternoon. Meet our car and drive to Tham Lod caves. Explore this unique cave system, said to be one of South-East Asia 's largest. Overnight and dinner at local hut (basic accommodation).

Day 4 - Trek and Drive to Mae Hong Son
Drive up the mountain to begin a hike (3 hours) through dense bamboo forest to reach a Lahu village. Lunch at this village. Meet our vehicle and take the road to Mae Hong Son, stopping at the Tham Pla caves en route. Overnight.

Day 5 - Explore Mae Hong Son and fly back to Chiang Mai Explore this charming little town on your own, until transfer to airport for flight back to Chiangmai.

Cost included :
hotels, daily American breakfast, Lunches during Thailand tours, transfers to and from airports to hotels, baggage handling, sightseeing tours by car /coach, English speaking guide, cultural events, all entry fees for monuments and museums, services of our tour managers.
